Lumos connects to Paylocity through Merge.dev. For details on the underlying integration requirements, see the Merge.dev documentation.

After this article

You will be able to connect Paylocity to Lumos and set it as a source of user data (HRIS) for your organization.

Capabilities

Paylocity is an HRIS integration. For the functionality Lumos provides across HRIS connectors, see the HRIS Integration Capabilities article.

Required plan and roles

You need a Paylocity account with access to the Access Request Form so you can grant the permissions Merge needs during the linking flow. See the Troubleshooting section for which permissions to select.

Read-only access vs provisioning

Is read-only possible? Yes, and it’s the only mode. Paylocity connects to Lumos through Merge.dev as an HRIS sync source, and no provisioning capability is documented for this connector. What read-only requires. A Paylocity account with access to the Access Request Form, granting at minimum the Get Employee permission Merge needs to authenticate the linking flow. Follow the steps below. Watch out for. Select only the endpoints your integration actually needs on the Access Request Form. For example, drop Pay Statements, Deductions, or Earnings if you don’t use them. There’s no separate provisioning credential to add later, since this integration doesn’t support provisioning.

Instructions

Phase 1: Connect in Lumos
  1. Find the Paylocity card in your Lumos integrations (reconnect an existing card or add a new one).
  2. Click Connect Paylocity.
  3. Follow the instructions in the pop-up to finish connecting the integration.
Phase 2: Set Paylocity as a source of truth (optional) After connecting, you will likely want to set Paylocity as a source of user data. You can do this in Lumos. For how the different source of truth options behave, see the Source of Truth documentation.

Troubleshooting

Access Request Form permissions. Get Employee is a required permission to authenticate the linking flow. Select only the endpoints your integration needs. If you don’t need Pay Statements, Deductions, or Earnings, remove those from the permissions.
