This article applies when the Domain ID under your Lumos domain shows calendly_ics. Older connections used a direct “Connect Calendly” OAuth flow without a customer-created OAuth app, and that setup is archived.

After this article

You’ll be able to connect Calendly to Lumos to sync users, groups, and roles, and to remove users from your Calendly organization for offboarding and license reclamation.

Capabilities

Provisioning behavior:
  • Create: Lumos invites the user to your Calendly organization by email (POST /organizations/{org_id}/invitations). Email is the only field sent. The account stays Pending in Lumos until the person accepts the invitation.
  • Delete: Lumos looks up the user’s organization membership and removes it. Organization owners can’t be removed, so transfer ownership first.
  • Group and role assignment isn’t supported. Groups and roles sync for visibility only.

Required plan and roles

  • Lumos plan: no minimum plan requirement.
  • Calendly role: the connecting Calendly user must be an Admin or Owner.
  • OAuth permissions requested during setup (all required):
    • Create and remove users: provision and deprovision organization members
    • Update a user’s profile information
    • Retrieve the users in your account: user and role sync
    • Delete an organization
  • Permission scoping: Lumos uses Calendly’s OAuth authentication, so the integration inherits the permissions of the user who sets up the connection. Calendly’s OAuth implementation doesn’t offer read-only permissions, so there’s no read-only variant of this connector.

Read-only access vs provisioning

Is read-only possible? No. Calendly’s OAuth implementation doesn’t offer read-only permissions, and Lumos inherits whatever access the connecting Admin or Owner grants, so there’s no read-only variant of this connector. What full provisioning requires. OAuth authorization by a Calendly Admin or Owner, granting the permissions to create and remove users, update profile information, retrieve users, and delete an organization. Follow the steps below to create the Calendly OAuth app and connect. Watch out for. Calendly organization owners can’t be removed from the organization, transfer ownership first if an owner needs to be offboarded.

Instructions

Phase 1: Create an OAuth app in Calendly
  1. In the Calendly developer console, go to Account > My Apps.
  2. Click Create new App and configure:
    • Name: any name (for example, Lumos)
    • Kind of app: Web
    • Environment type: Sandbox (you can change this to Production later)
    • Redirect URI: https://app.lumosidentity.com/integrations/ics_oauth2_callback
  3. Click Save & Continue.
  4. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret.
Phase 2: Connect in Lumos
  1. Find the Calendly card in your Lumos integrations (reconnect an existing card or add a new one).
  2. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret.
  3. Click Connect Calendly.
  4. Log into Calendly as an Admin or Owner and accept the requested scopes.

Troubleshooting

Can’t connect the integration. Your Calendly user isn’t an Owner or Admin. Reconnect with a Calendly Owner or Admin account. A user can’t be deprovisioned. Calendly organization owners can’t be removed from the organization. Transfer ownership first if the user must be offboarded.
