You’ll be able to connect Cisco Meraki to Lumos to see dashboard users and to offboard them.

Capabilities

  • List users. Lumos reads the dashboard users in your Meraki organization for visibility and Access Reviews.
  • List Entitlements. Lumos lists Roles in your Meraki organization.
  • Deprovision account. Lumos can remove a user, which reclaims their license.

Required plan and roles

  • Meraki access: an administrator who can generate an API key in the Meraki Dashboard.
  • API key: the connection uses a Meraki Dashboard API key. Enter it on the Lumos connection card.

Read-only access vs provisioning

Is read-only possible? No, The integration authenticates with a single Meraki Dashboard API key tied to an admin’s account, and no narrower or read-only key type is documented for this connector. What full provisioning requires. The same Dashboard API key, generated by an administrator with organization access. Lumos uses it both to list dashboard users and to deprovision (remove) a user, which reclaims their license. Watch out for. Only one credential type is documented for this connector, and the same key covers both reading dashboard users and removing them. The key must belong to an admin with rights to the organization you’re connecting, and Meraki rate-limits the API, which can slow a large sync. Lumos also maps every organization admin to a single Admin entitlement, so a Meraki read-only admin and a full administrator look the same in an Access Review.

Instructions

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Cisco Meraki
  2. Log in to your Meraki Organization. Skip if you already have an API_KEY as a user with administrator privileges. Please note that you need to have a wired / wireless network if you want to show guest users.
  3. Go to ‘Organization’ on the left side bar
  4. Click on settings and then search ‘API Access’
  5. ‘Enable access to the Cisco Meraki Dashboard API’ if not done already, then go to your ‘profile’
  6. Create an API key
  7. Copy the API key in the field below.
  8. In your ‘organization settings,’ go to the ‘Name’ section
  9. Copy and paste the name of your organization below
Phase 2: Connect in Lumos
  1. Find the Cisco Meraki card in your Lumos integrations.
  2. Enter the API key shown on the connection card.
  3. Click Connect.

Troubleshooting

Connection fails. Confirm the API key is valid in the Meraki Dashboard and has organization access, then reconnect. Permission errors. The API key must belong to an admin with rights to the organization you’re connecting. Meraki also rate-limits the API, so a large sync may slow down.
