Overview

Agent Skills are the reusable playbooks that tell Lumos agents how to do their work. Skills are now first-class objects in the Knowledge Hub, so the behavior behind an agent is something you can see in the product rather than something buried in configuration. Every workspace comes with two Lumos-managed Skills: the NHI Threat Hunter playbook and the RBAC Role Mining playbook.

What is a Skill?

A Skill is a structured set of instructions and reference files that define how an agent approaches a task. It sits between what an agent knows (its Knowledge Hub entries) and what it does (its actions). Before this release, agent playbooks lived in several disconnected places and only engineers could change them. Skills give that behavior one home in the product.

Browsing Skills

Open the Knowledge Hub and select the Skills tab to see the Skills available in your workspace. Each Skill shows its name, a summary of what it does, and which agents it is attached to. The Lumos default Skills appear automatically.

Lumos default Skills

Lumos manages these Skills and updates them as the playbooks evolve. You can view them in the Knowledge Hub, and they are not editable in this release.

Limitations in this release

  • View-only: the Lumos default Skills are visible but not editable. Customer-authored Skills are coming in a later release.
  • Per workspace: Skills are scoped to your tenant. Sharing Skills across tenants is not supported.
  • Attaching Skills to an agent from a multi-select picker in Agent Builder, and invoking a Skill directly in Albus chat, are not yet available. Agent specialization continues to apply in the meantime.
