# UKG Pro HRIS

*Lumos offers two UKG Pro connectors, each its own integration card. This article covers **UKG Pro**, the [Merge.dev](http://Merge.dev)-powered HRIS integration (the card tagged **HRIS**), which syncs users and attributes from UKG Pro as a source of user data. For the native connector that also writes a user's primary and secondary email back to UKG, use UKG Pro (Non-Merge).*

You will be able to connect UKG Pro to Lumos to sync users and their attributes from your HRIS and use UKG Pro as a source of user data (Source of Truth).

## Required plan and roles

* **UKG Pro role:** you must be an **Administrator** in your company's UKG Pro instance (or have an administrator share their access with you) to authorize the connection.
* **Permission scoping:** you authorize the connection by logging in with the admin account and approving the requested permissions in the UKG consent screen. This integration is read-only. It syncs users and attributes and does not write back to UKG.

## Instructions

**Phase 1: Confirm your UKG Pro admin access**

1. Verify you can log in to your company's UKG Pro instance as an Administrator. No token or API key needs to be created in UKG ahead of time. Authorization happens through login during the Lumos connection flow.

**Phase 2: Connect in Lumos**

1. In Lumos, go to **Settings → Integrations → UKG Pro**.
2. Choose the **UKG Pro** card, the [Merge.dev](http://Merge.dev)-powered integration, which is the card tagged **HRIS**. (If you instead want the native connector with email write-back, use the card that is **NOT** tagged HRIS. See UKG Pro (Non-Merge).)
3. Click **Connect**.
4. Follow the instructions in the pop-up that appears to log in with your UKG Pro admin account and approve the requested permissions.
5. Confirm the connection.
6. After connecting, you can set UKG Pro as a source of user data in Lumos and configure your **Source of Truth** settings.

## Troubleshooting

**You see two UKG Pro cards and aren't sure which to pick.** This [Merge.dev](http://Merge.dev)-based integration is the card tagged **HRIS**. The card that is NOT tagged HRIS is the native UKG Pro (Non-Merge) connector, which adds email write-back.

**Sync or connection issues after an admin change.** The connection is authorized by an admin login. If the authorizing admin's access was removed or downgraded, reconnect the integration with an active UKG Pro administrator account.
