# SFTP

## After this article

You'll be able to connect an SFTP server to Lumos to ingest file-based data, such as invoice or spend records, delivered as files. This connector syncs files, not user accounts.

## Capabilities

| Functionality | Type | Sync | Provision | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| File-based data | Data | Yes | No | Ingests files such as invoice or spend records. No user accounts are synced. |

## Required plan and roles

* **SFTP server access:** you'll need the host, the credentials to log in, and the path to the file or files Lumos should read.

## Read-only access vs provisioning

**Is read-only possible?** Yes, and it's the only mode this connector supports. SFTP ingests files (such as invoice or spend records) and never writes back. The Capabilities table marks Provision as unsupported for file-based data, and no user accounts sync at all.

**What read-only requires.** The SFTP host, credentials for an account that can read the target files, and the path where the files are delivered. Follow the steps below.

**Watch out for.** Because this connector never syncs user accounts, a full integration sync will report "No accounts found" even while your file data keeps arriving normally. That message is expected for this connector and doesn't indicate a failure.

## Instructions

**Phase 1: Connect in Lumos**

1. Find the SFTP card in your Lumos integrations.
2. Enter the SFTP host and the credentials for the account that can read the target files.
3. Point the connection at the path where the files are delivered.
4. Click **Connect**.

## Troubleshooting

**The integration shows an error reading "No accounts found," but the data still arrives.** This is a false negative, not a real failure. The SFTP connector doesn't sync user accounts, so the account step in a full sync legitimately finds none and reports "No accounts found." Your file data (invoices, spend records) keeps flowing normally. The error can be safely ignored. Lumos clears these connectors from account-sync evaluation so the message stops appearing.
