# Rollbar

## After this article

You will be able to connect Rollbar to Lumos to sync Rollbar users for visibility, Access Reviews, and offboarding, including deprovisioning Rollbar users directly from Lumos.

## Capabilities

| Functionality | Type | Sync | Provision | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| Users | Account | Yes | Yes | User accounts, deprovisioning supported (see below) |

| AppStore | Offboarding | Access Reviews | License Management |
| - | - | - | - |
| No | Yes | Yes | Yes |

| Deprovisioning Action | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| Delete | User | Fully deletes the user's account in Rollbar and reclaims a license |

**Status mapping:**

| Rollbar user status | Lumos account status |
| - | - |
| active | Active |
| inactive | Deprovisioned |
| deleted (Rollbar no longer returns the user) | Deprovisioned |

> **Warning:** deprovisioning a Rollbar user through Lumos fully deletes the user's account in Rollbar. This action reclaims a license in Rollbar.

## Required plan and roles

* **Rollbar plan:** you need the Rollbar **Enterprise** plan to connect this integration.
* **Rollbar role:** the user who connects the integration must be a member of the **Owners Team**.
* **SCIM:** SCIM must be enabled on your Rollbar account before you can connect. Contact [sales@rollbar.com](mailto:sales@rollbar.com) to turn it on.

## Read-only access vs provisioning

**Is read-only possible?** No. Rollbar's SCIM token is a single credential that Lumos uses for both listing users and deleting them, and no narrower read-only token or role is documented for this integration.

**What full provisioning requires.** The Rollbar Enterprise plan, a connecting user who is a member of the **Owners Team**, SCIM enabled on the account (contact [sales@rollbar.com](mailto:sales@rollbar.com) to turn it on), and the SCIM token copied from the Provisioning Options page. Follow the steps below to enable SCIM and connect.

**Watch out for.** Deprovisioning a Rollbar user through Lumos fully deletes the user's account in Rollbar, this can't be limited to a suspend-only action. Since the same SCIM token can also delete users, protect it with the same care as any other Owners Team credential.

## Instructions

**Phase 1: Enable SCIM in Rollbar**

1. Enable SCIM on your account by contacting [sales@rollbar.com](mailto:sales@rollbar.com).
2. Once SCIM is enabled, follow Rollbar's instructions for your identity provider to configure it.
3. In Rollbar's admin, go to **Provisioning Options** and check **Enable user and team provisioning**.
4. Copy the **SCIM token** on the Provisioning Options page and save it temporarily.

**Phase 2: Connect in Lumos**

1. Find the Rollbar card in your Lumos integrations (reconnect an existing card or add a new one).
2. Choose a unique identifier for the integration (for example, `lumos-rollbar-1`) and enter it in the **App Instance Identifier** field.
3. Enter the SCIM token you copied from Rollbar in the **API Key** field.
4. Click **Connect Rollbar**.

## API Endpoints Used

<Note>
The API endpoints this integration uses are available to logged-in Lumos customers. [Log in](/login) to view them.
</Note>

## Troubleshooting

**Connection fails.** Confirm your Rollbar account is on the Enterprise plan, SCIM is enabled, and the connecting user is a member of the Owners Team. Re-copy the SCIM token from the Provisioning Options page if the API Key is rejected.

**Sync fails with "No address associated with hostname" (DNS resolution failure).** Rollbar decommissioned the old `scim.rollbar.com` hostname, so it no longer resolves. Lumos updated the connector base URL to `https://api.rollbar.com/scim/v2/`. This was a vendor-side breaking change affecting all Rollbar customers, and no customer action is required beyond reconnecting if a stored connection still points at the old host.
