# Intercom

## After this article

You'll be able to connect Intercom to Lumos to sync admins, teams, and workspace access for visibility and Access Reviews. This is a read-only integration that syncs data from Intercom into Lumos.

## Capabilities

| Functionality | Type | Sync | Provision | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| Users | Account | Yes | No | User account |
| Team | Permission | Yes | No | Teams |
| Workspace Access | Permission | Yes | No | Workspace |

**Activity tracking:** supported for last login. The Intercom connector tracks last login activity for admins through the activity logs API, so you can see when team members last accessed the Intercom workspace.

## Required plan and roles

* **Intercom role:** an **Admin** must perform the connection steps. The admin needs access to install third-party apps in the Intercom workspace.
* **Authentication:** an Intercom **Access Token**.

## Read-only access vs provisioning

**Is read-only possible?** Yes, and it's the only mode this connector offers. This is a read-only integration by design, and Lumos only syncs admins, teams, and workspace access data from Intercom.

## Instructions

**Phase 1: Get an Access Token in Intercom**

1. Follow the instructions on Intercom's webpage for how to get an Access Token.

**Phase 2: Connect in Lumos**

1. As an Admin, click the Intercom card in your Lumos integrations (reconnect an existing card or add a new one).
2. Enter the **Access Token**.
3. Click **Connect**.

## API Endpoints Used

<Note>
  The API endpoints this integration uses are available to logged-in Lumos customers. [Log in](/login) to view them.
</Note>

## Troubleshooting

**Admins aren't appearing in Lumos.** Confirm the integration shows as **Connected**. Verify the users have admin or team member status in Intercom and aren't marked as inactive. Contact Lumos support if the problem persists.

**"Access denied" error during authorization.** Verify you have admin access to the Intercom workspace and that your account can install third-party apps. Check the workspace settings for any OAuth restrictions, and ask your Intercom workspace owner to confirm your permissions.
