# HR Partner

You will be able to connect HR Partner to Lumos and set it as a source of user data.

## Required plan and roles

* **HR Partner role:** You must be an Admin in your company's HR Partner instance.

## Read-only access vs provisioning

**Is read-only possible?** Yes, and it's the only mode this connector offers. HR Partner connects through Merge.dev as a sync-only connector, there is no provisioning capability for creating, updating, or deprovisioning HR Partner accounts from Lumos.

**What read-only requires.** The Admin role in your HR Partner instance described above, then follow the steps below to connect.

**Watch out for.** There is no provisioning variant to switch to. Account changes have to happen in HR Partner directly, since this connection only ever reads user data into Lumos.

## Instructions

**Phase 1: Connect HR Partner in Lumos**

1. Click the **HR Partner** card in your Lumos integrations (Reconnect or add new).
2. Click the **Connect HR Partner** button.
3. Follow the instructions in the pop-up that appears to finish connecting the integration.

**Phase 2: Set the source of truth (optional)**

1. After connecting, you will likely want to set HR Partner as a source of user data. You can do this in Lumos, and the Source of Truth documentation covers the different source of truth settings.

## Troubleshooting

**Can't connect the integration.** Make sure you meet all the setup requirements. You must be an Admin in your company's HR Partner instance.
