# Gusto

*Lumos partners with Merge.dev for the Gusto integration. For more on the integration requirements, review the Merge.dev documentation.*

## After this article

You will be able to connect Gusto to Lumos to sync users from your HRIS, and use Gusto as a source of user data (Source of Truth).

## Capabilities

| Functionality | Type | Sync | Provision | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| Users | Account | Yes | No | User account records from the HRIS |

## Required plan and roles

* **Gusto role:** your Gusto account must have **Full Admin Access** to authorize the connection.

## Read-only access vs provisioning

**Is read-only possible?** Yes. Every connection to Gusto is read-only. The connector syncs users from your HRIS through Merge.dev and does not provision or modify Gusto accounts.

**What read-only requires.** A Gusto account with Full Admin Access to authorize the connection. Follow the steps below.

**Watch out for.** Since this integration never provisions, use it as a Source of Truth for identity data rather than expecting it to create or deactivate Gusto accounts.

## Instructions

1. Find the Gusto card in your Lumos integrations ([reconnect](https://app.lumosidentity.com/integrations?tab=connected) an existing card or [add a new one](https://app.lumosidentity.com/integrations?tab=can_integrate)).
2. Click the **Connect Gusto** button.
3. Follow the instructions in the pop-up that appears to finish connecting the integration.
4. After connecting, set Gusto as a source of user data if you want to. See the Source of Truth documentation for the different source-of-truth settings.

## Troubleshooting

**Can't connect the integration.** Confirm your Gusto account has Full Admin Access, or that an admin has shared their access with you.
