# DockerHub

## After this article

You'll be able to connect DockerHub to Lumos to sync and provision users, teams, and roles. This integration requires elevated access, and there's no read-only version available.

## Capabilities

| Functionality | Type | Sync | Provision | Description |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| Users | Account | Yes | No | User account |
| Teams | Permission | Yes | Yes | Teams |
| Roles | Permission | Yes | Yes | Roles |

| Deprovisioning Action | Description |
| - | - |
| Delete Account | Deletes a user account in DockerHub |

## Required plan and roles

* **DockerHub role:** the user connecting must be an Admin in DockerHub.
* **Access level:** this integration syncs and provisions to DockerHub, so it needs elevated access. There's no read-only variant.
* **Connection fields:** you'll provide a **Username**, **Password**, and **Organization Name**.

## Read-only access vs provisioning

**Is read-only possible?** No. This integration needs elevated access and has no read-only version, since the same Admin credential that syncs users also provisions Teams and Roles.

**What full provisioning requires.** The user connecting must be an Admin in DockerHub, providing Username, Password, and Organization Name. That same Admin credential provisions Teams and Roles and supports the Delete Account deprovisioning action. Follow the steps below to gather these details and connect.

**Watch out for.** There's no narrower credential to hand this connector. The Admin account you connect with can already deprovision users and manage Teams and Roles. If you set up SSO login, you may need a backup account password rather than your normal login to complete the connection.

## Instructions

**Phase 1: Gather your DockerHub details**

1. **Username** is the username or email address used to log in to DockerHub.
2. **Password** is the password used to log in to DockerHub. If you set up SSO login, you may need your backup account password. If you don't have that password saved, reset it:
   * Log in to DockerHub.
   * Click your profile picture in the top right corner and select **Account Settings** from the dropdown menu.
   * Click the **Reset Password** button under the **General > Password** section.
3. **Organization Name** is the name of the DockerHub organization to connect to. You can find it in the Docker Admin Console page or in the URL of the organization page, for example `https://app.docker.com/admin/orgs/<ORGANIZATION_NAME>/members`.

**Phase 2: Connect in Lumos**

1. Click the DockerHub card in your Lumos integrations (reconnect an existing card or add a new one).
2. Provide the **Username**, **Password**, and **Organization Name**.
3. Click the **Connect** button.

## API Endpoints Used

<Note>
  The API endpoints this integration uses are available to logged-in Lumos customers. [Log in](/login) to view them.
</Note>

## Troubleshooting

**Connection requires Admin access.** Make sure the user connecting is an Admin in DockerHub. This integration needs elevated access and has no read-only version.

**You can't find your password because of SSO.** If you set up SSO login, use your backup account password. If it isn't saved, reset it from your profile picture, then **Account Settings**, then **Reset Password** under **General > Password**.

**You don't know your Organization Name.** Find it in the Docker Admin Console page, or read it from the URL of the organization page. It's the `<ORGANIZATION_NAME>` part of `https://app.docker.com/admin/orgs/<ORGANIZATION_NAME>/members`.
