# Activating Your Lumos Account

> Connect your email provider, identity provider, Slack, and other integrations to activate your Lumos account and build your app catalog.

<Info>
  Part of Lumos Launchpad: [Foundation](/launchpad/foundation), step 1.
</Info>

## Background

This article shows you how to activate your Lumos account by connecting your email provider, identity provider, Slack, and other integrations. After setup, you can use Lumos to:

* **Design roles and policies**: Use Albus to mine roles and draft RBAC and ABAC policies from key attributes and real usage, so least privilege stays current as your organization changes.
* **Run Access Reviews**: Review human and non-human identity (NHI) access in the same campaign, with explainable decisions, automatic remediation, and audit-ready evidence.
* **Automate access**: Use Joiner-Mover-Leaver workflows, the Lumos AppStore, and Just-in-Time (JIT) access so employees get the access they need and IT handles fewer tickets.

## Step 1: Connect your email provider

Lumos builds your app catalog by:

* Finding all apps your employees logged in to through your email provider.
* Running an AI algorithm on your email subject lines to find apps your employees signed up for using a username and password.

**Google Workspace**

Check that you have access to Google Workspace [domain-wide delegation](https://admin.google.com/ac/owl/domainwidedelegation) before starting.

1. Go to [app.lumosidentity.com](http://app.lumosidentity.com/) and log in with Google using an account with access to Google [domain-wide delegation](https://admin.google.com/ac/owl/domainwidedelegation).
2. After you log in with Google, an onboarding page opens with steps to connect Google Workspace. Complete these steps and click **Start Account Discovery** to finish the setup.

**Microsoft**

Check that your Office365 user has access to the Microsoft [admin panel](https://admin.microsoft.com/#/homepage) before starting.

1. Go to [app.lumosidentity.com](http://app.lumosidentity.com/) and log in with Microsoft using your Admin account.
2. After you log in, Lumos redirects you to accept the OAuth scopes it requests for Office365. Accept these scopes to finish the setup.

## Step 2: Connect your identity provider

Lumos can discover users and application activity related to apps managed in your IdP automatically.

Go to the [*Connect More Integrations*](https://app.lumosidentity.com/integrations?tab=can_integrate) tab in Lumos and click on the tile linked to your IdP to connect the integration. For details on the most common IdPs, see the following articles:

* [Okta](/integrations/library/okta)
* [OneLogin](/integrations/library/onelogin)
* [Microsoft 365 / Entra ID](/integrations/library/microsoft-365-azure-ad-entra-id)
* [JumpCloud](/integrations/library/jumpcloud)

## Step 3: Connect Slack

Connect Slack and then enable Slack notifications to get notified of key access-related events. *See [Slack](/integrations/library/slack/slack-messaging) and [Notification Settings](/for-admins/platform-administration/notifications-catalog)*

## Step 4: Connect more integrations

To get the most value from Lumos, connect Lumos to more of your company-managed apps.

Go to the [*Connect More Integrations*](https://app.lumosidentity.com/integrations?tab=can_integrate) tab in Lumos to connect more applications. The more apps you connect, the more access Lumos can govern and automate.
